Searching Pike County Civil Court Records Online

Pike County uses Judici.com for online civil court records access. Judici is a free statewide search tool that covers more than 80 Illinois counties. You can search Pike County civil court records by party name, case number, or attorney. The system shows you a list of matching cases along with the docket, which tracks the full history of each case. There is no charge and no login required. The site is available at all hours.

The Judici docket is an electronic summary, not the full case file. It shows who is involved, what type of civil action it is, and what the court has done so far. This is enough for most routine lookups: checking whether a case is active, confirming a judgment, or finding out when the next hearing is. For the actual documents in the file, you need to contact the clerk's office in Pittsfield.

What Pike County Civil Court Records Contain

A civil court record in Pike County starts with basic identifying details: the case number, the names of all parties, the type of civil action, the filing date, and the judge assigned. From there, the docket builds a chronological list of every event in the case. Each entry shows what happened and when. Hearings, filings, motions, rulings, and orders all get logged. This timeline covers the whole case, from the first day it was opened to its final outcome.

The physical case file at the courthouse holds the actual documents. You will find the original complaint or petition there, along with responses from the other party, motions, court orders, and the final judgment if one was entered. Exhibits and evidence introduced during hearings may also be part of the file. Certified copies of judgments and orders are the most commonly requested documents from the clerk's office. These copies are often needed to collect a money judgment, record a property lien, or satisfy a legal requirement in another case.

Some records are closed to the public. Juvenile cases and adoption records are sealed by law. Records sealed by court order are also off limits. Sensitive personal data, such as Social Security numbers and financial account numbers, is redacted from any copies given to the public. Standard civil cases, including small claims, contract disputes, debt collection, and property matters, are public records. Illinois law under 705 ILCS 105/16(6) requires these records be open for inspection during office hours.

Electronic Filing for Pike County Civil Cases

All civil filings in Pike County must go through eFileIL, the state's mandatory electronic filing system. This covers new case filings and all subsequent documents. The system runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

To file, you need an eFileIL account and must use an approved Electronic Filing Service Provider, or EFSP. The EFSP sends your documents to the court and returns a confirmation once the clerk accepts the filing. EFSP providers charge their own service fees in addition to any court filing fees. The eFileIL FAQ at efile.illinoiscourts.gov has details on how the system works and how to choose a provider.

Exemptions apply to certain filers. People in prison or jail are exempt. Wills, juvenile filings, and adoption cases do not have to go through eFiling. People with disabilities that prevent electronic filing may request an accommodation. Good-cause exemptions can also be granted by the court. Court forms for civil cases in Illinois are available at illinoiscourts.gov/documents-and-forms/approved-forms/.

Fees for Pike County Civil Court Records

Pike County uses the standard Illinois fee schedule for civil court record copies and searches. A record search costs up to $6.00 per year searched. Copies cost $2.00 for the first page, $0.50 each for pages two through twenty, and $0.25 per page after that. Certified copies cost more than plain copies. Call the clerk at 217/285-6612 to confirm the current rate for certified copies before you make a trip to the courthouse.

These fees are set by 705 ILCS 105/27.1b. Pike County falls under the standard rate. Cook County is the only county that may charge the higher rate, and that only applies because of its population size.

Searching for civil court records online through Judici.com is free. The Illinois Supreme Court ended the electronic access fee under Rule 313 on May 1, 2025. You no longer pay to view case records or docket entries online. Fees apply only when you request physical copies or certified documents from the clerk's office in Pittsfield.
